Yvonne Caro Caro
Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher (RYT-500) and Certified, Intermediate-Junior-II Iyengar Yoga teacher, Yvonne Caro Caro has been pursuing her interest in Hatha Yoga since 1991 and currently teaches private lessons, group classes and multi-day workshops under the auspices of The Fire of Yoga.
She has studied with B.K.S., Prashant and Dr. Geeta Iyengar in Pune, India and is a graduate of the Teacher Training Program of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern California (IYASC).
In 2017, Yvonne completed the first-ever, three-year, Iyengar-Yoga, Therapeutic Teacher-Training Program under the guidance of Manouso Manos, and in 2017, she received certification in Yoga Therapy from the International Association of Yoga Therapists. As a Senior Standardized Patient Educator at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, Yvonne’s teaching and yoga therapy sessions are enriched by her background in the medical field, a deep respect for best practices and evidence-based learning, and detailed attention to the practical applications of Iyengar Yoga.
Caro Caro has worked as an actress in theatre, television and film in her native Puerto Rico and internationally for over 30 years and holds a Master in Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in acting from UCLA’s Schools of Theatre Film and Television. This background not only helps her keep classes entertaining and engaging, but it infuses her teaching with empathy and an experiential understanding of the human body.
Yvonne draws constant inspiration from her teachers, Marla Apt and Manouso Manos, and seeks to impart the devotion to close study and continued learning she has absorbed from their example.
